Naperville's Parkview lot closed two additional weeks

What was supposed to be a three-day project to resurface Naperville's Parkview parking lot near the downtown train station now will take at least two more weeks, officials said.

Crews working over the weekend at the lot discovered foundation issues that will require substantial reconstruction work to ensure the safety and long-term performance of the lot's driving surface, officials said.

Commuters with hangtag permits for the Parkview lot may park in any of the other hangtag permit lots, including the Burlington lot at the southeast corner of 5th Avenue and Washington Street and the Kroehler lot at the northeast corner of 5th Avenue and Loomis Street. A map of all commuter parking facilities is available to view at www.naperville.il.us/commuterparking.aspx.

Commuters who arrive to find the lots are full should call the Commuter Call Center for instructions at (630) 305-5330.

Officials say they now expect the Parkview lot to reopen on July 14.
