Police: Palatine man solicited undercover cop posing as 14-year-old boy
A Palatine man was arrested after he went online and solicited sex from an undercover Lake County sheriff's detective, authorities said Tuesday.
Ivan V. Dimitrov, 26, of the 0-100 block of West King Henry Court, was charged with three counts of indecent solicitation of a child.
Dimitrov also was charged with possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. He had a small amount of marijuana and a pipe when he was arrested, police said.
Dimitrov first posted an advertisement online in which he sought a companion, police said in a news release. He then communicated with the detective, who was posing as a 14-year-old boy, police said.
Dimitrov was arrested after arranging a meeting at a park near Grayslake, police said.
Dimitrov's bond was set at $100,000. He is scheduled to appear in court July 23.
