Kane County

• A box of checks was stolen between 4 and 5 p.m. Friday from a home on the 4N100 block of Anderson Road near Elburn.

• A tablet computer and wallet, worth a total of about $600, along with $3,545 in checks, were stolen between 12:01 and 4 a.m. Saturday from a vehicle and residence on the 11N800 block of Hoxie Avenue near Elgin. Also, $67 in unauthorized charges were made on a stolen credit card that day.

• John R. Bivins, 40, of the 0-99 block of Highland Avenue, Aurora, was arrested and charged with assault, battery and domestic battery at 11:01 p.m. June 22, according to a sheriff's report. He is accused of entering the home of a woman he knew, breaking a fan, damaging a pickup truck, swinging a lawn mower around, struggling with the woman and threatening her male companion, the report said.

• Two bottles of prescription pills and Oakley sunglasses were stolen between 10:30 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday from a vehicle parked on the 300 block of Catherine Street near Aurora.
