Carol Stream parade: Generations of Freedom

"Generations of Freedom: Carol Stream Past, Present, Future" will be the theme of the village's Independence Day parade that steps off at 10 a.m. July 4 from the corner of Lies and County Farm roads near the Ross Ferraro Town Center.

Organizers said parade participants are scheduled to include the Jesse White Tumblers, the Glenbard North High School Marching Band, the fire-twirling Barefoot Hawaiians, the St. Andrews Pipes and Drums Band of Central Illinois, Captain Jack Sparrow, the Lowdown Brass Band and the Shriner Cruzin' Coolers and Mini-Choppers.
