New president named for Dundee Twp. Lions Club

The Dundee Township Lions Club inducted officers for the 2014-15 year at its June meeting. Elburn Lion Club member Chris Halsey, District 1-J Governor, hands the gavel to the new president as current president Gene Tester looks on.

The new president, Jim McClung, indicates as he takes over he will emphasize building membership. He notes during the past year, as the Lions give more to community charities, the needs have only increased. Although the Lions Club was established to primarily support the blind and hearing-impaired, the club has taken pride in also helping many other community charities such as the FISH Food Pantry, Boys and Girls Club of Dundee Township, and the Community Crisis Center. In June, the club provided the food for the Fox Valley Challenge League participants and is busy doing concessions for "Concerts in the Park" for the Dundee Township Park District.

McClung notes the community has been very generous in their support of the Lions Club through the years. They look forward to recruiting more members who want to serve the community. He noted the rewards for such work is priceless as you see the smiles and the benefits with the various organizations.
