Wasco Wildcats 10U team wins state title

The Wasco Wildcats, a travel baseball team based in Wasco, just west of St. Charles, captured first place at the United States Specialty Sports Association 10 and under "AA" Illinois State Championship June 22.

The Wildcats won five games and lost only one during the weekend tournament held June 20-22 in Cary. The tournament featured the top 16 teams in Northern Illinois at the AA level.

During the tournament, the Wildcats scored 48 runs and allowed only 15.

An all-around team effort by the Wildcats' pitching, hitting and fielding was too much for the Dixon Rebels in the championship game. Wasco defeated Dixon 7-3 to take home the first-place trophy.

Wasco Baseball provides a positive, structured, educational baseball experience for approximately 950 boys and girls age 5 to 17 during each of two seasons per year. The level of competition ranges from recreational to competitive travel teams.
