Huntley church to hold Missions Awareness Expo

What is a "mission?" Among its several definitions a mission is "a body of persons sent to perform a service." Carrying out a mission can be good for the community.

Are you aware of the several Monthly Missions of the First Congregational Church of Huntley? On Sunday, July 13, the church will hold a Missions Awareness Expo at 10 a.m. at its fellowship hall behind the church, 11628 Main St.

This event will provide attendees with useful information about each of the upcoming Monthly Missions, services that provide sharing, helping, teaching, and sheltering assistance, for the months of September through December.

It will include information about CERTS Training, Neighbors in Need, Turning Point, Family Alliance, and Pioneer Center Wish List and Christmas Fund. Each of these missions provides assistance to our community.

Church members and others are encouraged to attend the Awareness Expo to learn more about each mission and how they can participate. Come on Sunday, July 13, at 10 a.m. to learn how you can help. Mark you calendar and join them for coffee and the expo.
