Legendary guitarist John Primer entertains at Independence Grove

Concertgoers danced and sang on the packed lawn as guitarist John Primer and The Real Deal Blues Band played the Chicago blues during Events on the Plaza outdoor concert Tuesday night at Independence Grove Forest Preserve near Libertyville.

"It was fabulous," Libertyville resident Ruth Pea said. "I like being with my friends with great entertainment. It was fun for all."

The legendary blues man has played his electric slide guitar with Muddy Waters, Junior Wells, Willie Dixon and Magic Slim.

Next week's concert features Eric Lambert & Friends that specializes in Americana music with traces of rock, folk, bluegrass, country and blues.

Events in the Plaza outdoor concerts are Tuesdays at 7:30 p.m. through Aug. 5 at Independence Grove, 16400 Buckley Road. Parking is $6 per car after 5 p.m. on concert days.
