No more shopping where traffic cameras are

Apparently I made the mistake of turning right on red at 3 p.m. on May 15 at the corner of Rand and Dundee roads without coming to a complete stop. I thought the village was trying to make that part of Palatine more attractive to people shopping by creating a few TIF districts there. Well, I can assure you I will not be in that area again if I can help it.

Schaumburg shopping is just as close to my home, and even though I feel we should strive to shop and keep as much of our money local as possible, I am crossing the north end of Palatine off my list. These red-light cameras are nothing more than a money grab scam. I am ashamed the village I live in and pay taxes to has them. Schaumburg does not, and I'll make more of an effort to shop there.

Thanks for the $100 reminder, Palatine.
