Bears players team up to offer football camp in Lisle

Newcomers and seasoned players who want to learn individual and team techniques may want to attend the Roberto Garza and Jon Bostic Football Camp.

The football camp runs Sunday to Wednesday, June 29 to July 2, at Benedictine University, 5700 College Road, Lisle, and offers both overnight and day camp options for players ages 7 to 18.

Players will receive daily instruction, lectures and demonstrations by Garza, Bostic and other members of the Chicago Bears.

The college and high school coaches on staff at the camp will ensure each practice will be filled with in-depth instruction, lectures and demonstrations. Campers will be grouped by age, position, ability and experience to allow coaches to progressively teach basic and advanced techniques to best benefit each group.

"Each athlete learns the fundamentals of football at this camp, which is very important," Garza said.

Camp participants also will learn about teamwork, self-discipline and selecting the correct role models, as well as how to attain their potential in sports and in life. Though this is not an "autograph camp," members of the Bears will be available for autographs.

For information and to request a camp brochure with an application, call (301) 575-9400 or visit footballcamps.com. Space in the camp is limited and registrations will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis.

The camp is organized by Sports International, which has provided youth football players across the United States with the opportunity to learn from the professionals for 30 years.
