Raupp Museum in Buffalo Grove receives state grant

The Buffalo Grove Park District's Raupp Museum will be receiving a $51,000 grant from the Illinois Public Museums Capital Grant Program.

The money will be used to add a gas station and a 1937 Ford truck to the museum's Crossroads Gallery. The museum was one of two in Lake County and 47 statewide to receive the grants.

The project, which has a total cost of approximately $68,300, should take approximately four months to complete once bids are taken. Construction will take place primarily off site, with the exhibit shipped to the museum, creating very little downtime in the exhibit space.

"We are very proud to provide the community with such a high quality depiction of Buffalo Grove's history and this grant will help us improve upon how we translate that history to the residents and school groups that visit the Raupp Museum," said Buffalo Grove Park District Executive Director Dan

Schimmel said in a news release.

The museum is at 901 Dunham Ave. More information is at bgmuseum.org, or (847) 459-2318.
