"The Disappearing Middle Class" is the subject of a talk Sunday, June 22, by U.S. Rep. Jan Schakowsky. The free event will be at 4 p.m. at the Adlai Stevenson Center on Democracy, 25200 N. Schakowsky served eight years in the Illinois General Assembly before being elected to the House of Representatives in 1998. She is a member of the House energy and commerce committee and is part of the Democratic leadership in the House, serving as chief deputy whip and vice president of the House Democratic steering and policy committee.
