Magician brings fun and science to Elburn library

Magician Tim Glander brought his comic magic and science show to the Town and Country Public Library in Elburn Wednesday afternoon - much to the delight of about two dozen children.

The show, "Magical Fizzes and Booms," combined magic tricks, such as a levitating magic wand and disappearing rope knots, with science topics like fingerprinting and the rules of gravity. Laughter and audience participation followed.

Glander, of Whitewater, Wisconsin, performs a weekly magic show in Janesville, Wisconsin, and regularly appears at day cares, assisted living facilities and birthday parties, he said.

"It's either this or I have to go to work," he said jokingly. "I like doing different venues. It keeps the show really interesting. This particular show deals with the magic of science."

Princess Pippi will perform songs, dances, stories and games at the library at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27. For details, visit elburn.lib.il.us.
