COD Offers New 'Street Law' Course this Fall

College of DuPage will offer a new course, "Street Law: It's Good Constitution," for the first time this fall.

This class will provide students with an overview of the U.S. legal system as well as offer practical information and advice about a variety of legal issues. Street Law was developed from curricula created by Street Law, Inc., a national non-profit organization dedicated to promoting law education, democracy and human rights.

In this new Political Science course (POLS-1820-001), students will learn how the law applies to real-life situations connected to family, work, housing, immigration and other areas. In addition, this course will include several field trips to court houses and law schools, guest speakers, and mock courtroom sessions.

Though geared toward everyone, this course may be of particular interest for students pursuing education in criminal justice, law, paralegal studies or political science.

For more information, please contact Political Science Professor Christian Goergen goergen@cod.edu. To register for this course, visit MyAccess.cod.edu.
