Pregnant Volunteers Needed for Free Fetal Ultrasounds at College of DuPage

The Diagnostic Medical Imaging Sonography program at College of DuPage is seeking volunteers between 12 and 32 weeks gestation to participate in free evening scanning sessions this summer.

Three volunteer appointments are available every hour at 6, 7 and 8 p.m. on Mondays through July 21. Each session lasts 45 to 60 minutes, and volunteers are asked to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to their appointments.

The free sessions allow DMIS students to practice their scanning skills under the supervision of certified sonographers. Participants receive a "first photo" of their baby to take home and family members are welcome to observe. The scans are not diagnostic tests, and reports are not issued. Volunteers are asked to obtain verbal permission from their physicians prior to the session.

Spots are expected to fill quickly. For more information or to schedule an appointment, e-mail ultrasoundvolunteer@cod.edu.
