Boomers rally, then fall in 11

The host Schaumburg Boomers rallied in the ninth inning to tie, only to fall 6-5 in 11 innings to the River City Rascals on Tuesday night.

The teams combined to belt 5 home runs. The Rascals led 4-1 entering the ninth before Ryan McChesney belted a solo homer off closer Gabe Shaw to pull the Boomers (15-13) within 4-2. Two batters later, Jordan Dean drilled his first professional homer, a 2-run shot that tied the game at 4-4. After the Rascals scored twice in the 11th, the Boomers left the tying run at third in the bottom of the inning. Dexter Price suffered the loss in relief.

The series continues today at 11 a.m.
