Woodland Elementary District 50 has been lauded for a school safety video that was produced with Gurnee police. The National School Public Relations Association announced District 50 received the Golden Achievement Award for the video taped in February 2013. The "Attention Students and Staff" safety video has been shared throughout the United States and internationally to 1,628 police departments and school districts. "Our school district is fortunate to have a collaborative relationship with the Gurnee Police Department," District 50 Superintendent Joy Swoboda said. "They are our partners in educating and protecting the students, staff and families we serve. We are grateful for their continued support."
