The Independence Grove outdoor music series offered by the Lake County Forest Preserve District kicks off at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 17, with Caribbean rock by Mr. Myers. Parking is $6 per car after 5 p.m. on concert days and cars will be turned away when the lot is full. For parking status or to determine if a concert has been canceled, call (847) 968-3499 or check Twitter. There are no rain dates and concerts will not be rescheduled. They are open to all ages and are held at Independence Grove's Millennia Plaza amphitheater overlooking a lake. Except for service animals, pets are not permitted. Independence Grove is on Route 137 east of Milwaukee Avenue near Libertyville. Visit www.lcfpd.org/preserves for the complete eight-week schedule.
