Glen Ellyn District 41 appoints new board member

A former College of DuPage associate dean, Cathryn Wilkinson, has been named to the Glen Ellyn Elementary District 41 school board to replace Sam Black.

Wilkinson was chosen from among 14 applicants interviewed by the board.

Black said Wilkinson has lived in the district for 10 years and has 14 years of experience in higher education. She previously served as associate dean of Fine and Applied Arts at COD.

Wilkinson received a master of fine arts degree and a Ph.D. from The University of Iowa School of Music, according to her biography on the College of DuPage website.

Black's resignation was effective June 10. He stepped down because his family is moving to Florida.
