Quinn wins endorsements from clergy

Several clergy and community leaders in the Chicago area have endorsed Gov. Pat Quinn in a tight gubernatorial race.

Among those throwing their support behind the Democrat at an event Thursday in Chicago were the Rev. Albert Tyson and Bishop Claude Porter.

Another endorsement for the incumbent came from a prominent Chicago priest, Michael Pfleger.

In a statement released by Quinn's campaign, Pfleger praised Quinn on education issues. Pfleger says Quinn won't "stop fighting to ensure every child has access to a great education."

Quinn thanked the community leaders and told them, "Illinois is making a comeback."

Quinn's election challenger is Winnetka businessman Bruce Rauner.
