Indiana QB to transfer

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Quarterback Tre Roberson is leaving Indiana and will transfer to another school.

Roberson won the state's Mr. Football Award in 2010 and appeared to be Indiana's quarterback of the future after becoming the first true freshman to ever start for the Hoosiers. But in 2012, the sophomore broke his lower left leg during the second game of the season and wound up splitting the quarterback duties with Nate Sudfeld most of last season. Roberson started four games in 2013.

Coach Kevin Wilson was planning to use both Sudfeld, a junior, and Roberson, a redshirt junior, again this season. Now it's Sudfeld's job to lose.

Roberson becomes the second quarterback with starting experience to leave Indiana this offseason. Cam Coffman decided to transfer in January.
