The Elgin Sports Hall of Fame Foundation recently awarded its scholarships for the 2013-14 school year.

The ESHOF Foundation, founded in 1980, awards $1,300 scholarships to worthy student-athletes from high schools within the City of Elgin, as well as from Elgin Community College.

ELGIN COMMUNITY COLLEGE: Zach Cooper -- Men's basketball, Sarah Nelson -- Women's basketball.

ELGIN HIGH: Melanie Berg (volleyball, basketball, softball), Anna Eckholm (volleyball, basketball, softball), Maggie Powers (volleyball, basketball, track and field), Kyle Paquin (boys golf, swimming, volleyball), Ryan Sitter (football, basketball, baseball), Francisco Mari (basketball, baseball), Kelly Bremer (girls volleyball, softball), Zachary McCullough (wrestling).

LARKIN: Alyssa McGhee (girls volleyball and girls basketball), Meryl Hausana (girls tennis), Alexis Price (girls volleyball and softball), Andrew Jones (golf and basketball), Dante Bonds (football and track), and Brayden Royse (baseball and basketball).
