Waukegan man arrested in June bank robbery

A Waukegan man has been arrested in a June 6 bank robbery, according to a Waukegan Police Department news release.

Kenneth Kormoi, 29, was charged with aggravated battery and burglary.

Waukegan police responded to a bank alarm at 5:10 p.m. on the 2700 block of Washington Street on June 6. No weapon was used during the robbery, and the suspect had left the bank by the time police arrived.

The robber stole $100 and some change, according to the release.

Officials said Hidden Glen subdivision residents noticed someone run to a gold Jeep and leave. The car was later found in the Grand Avenue and Butrick Street vicinity.

Kormoi was not in the vehicle but was later arrested, according to officials.

Kormoi will appear in court on June 23.
