Joseph Wysong joined the Mount Prospect Fire Department as the newest firefighter/paramedic June 2. Family and friends gathered to watch Board of Fire and Police Commissioner Mark Busse administer the oath of office to Wysong.

During the ceremony, family watched as Wysong received Mount Prospect badge No. 158.

"Joe will make a great addition to the department," said Fire Chief John Malcolm.

Mount Prospect firefighters and village staff also witnessed the swearing-in. The ceremony took place at the Police and Fire Department headquarters, 112 E. Northwest Hwy. in Mount Prospect.
