Palatine Battle of the Bands June 9

The 2014 Palatine Battle of the Bands will take place at 7 p.m. Monday, June 9 at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater, 262 East Palatine Road, Palatine.

Admission to the battle - which features the bands Ember Oceans, Nothing Yet, and Shinehammer - is free. Prizes for the bands this year have been provided by The Drum Pad and The Music Room.

The three chosen bands will perform for the public and a panel of judges. One band will be selected to advance to the Illinois Battle of the Bands Regional competition, an Illinois Park and Recreation Association (IPRA) event, which takes place June 28, also at the Fred P. Hall Amphitheater in Palatine. The regional winner will advance to the Illinois State Battle of the Bands Finals to be held in Springfield on Aug. 16.

Additionally, the Village of Palatine will select a band to perform at Palatine Street Fest in August and the Palatine Jaycees will select a band to perform at their Hometown Fest in July.
