Online Facebook registration and voting continues for five local dogs to compete in Libertyville's "Big Air Dog" local jumping competition." Fifteen dogs will run down a 40-foot dock and jump into a 27,000-gallon, 20-foot by 40-foot pool placed in downtown Libertyville for the title of "Libertyville's Big Air Dog." The dog with the longest leap off the dock wins. The five dogs with the most Facebook votes by noon, June 30, will join sponsored dogs and winners from a previous competition in the event. "Big Air Dog" local jumping competition is held during Dog Days of Summer. Opening ceremonies will be at 6 p.m. Friday, July 11, Wayne Messmer will sing the national anthem and present awards to all 15 competitors. For complete rules and to register visit
