Arlington Hts. Picnit in the Park June 6

The Arlington Heights Park District formally starts its summer season with Picnic in the Park from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, at North School Park, Arlington Heights Road and Eastman Street, a few blocks north of Northwest Highway.

All activities are free. Moonwalks, balloon sculptures and an appearance from the Arlington Heights Memorial Library's Book Mobile are just a few of the activities planned.

Picnic in the Park includes musical entertainment. From 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Ac-Rock will take the stage, followed by Jeanie B and the Jellybeans from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Ac-Rock will perform classic rock hits. The four band members sing the doo-wop standards audiences expect and more recent rock hits you might not expect to be performed a cappella. Their shows are a mix of tightly crafted music and freewheeling humor that appeals to audiences of all ages. Jeanie B and the Jellybeans will get both kids and adults singing and dancing along.

Activities, music and giveaways are just part of the event. Food trucks will be available with plenty of options for lunch.

Event sponsors include The People's Bank of Arlington Heights and All About Kids Dentistry. The Arlington Heights Police Department will have an information booth at the event.
