A 58-year-old man has been charged in the May 11 fire in the Elgin Tower Building. Tommy McBurney, who is homeless, was charged with one felony count of arson, according to a news release from the Elgin Police Department. Full story. w

Rolling Meadows woman dies in crash

A Rolling Meadows woman died Tuesday when she lost control of her car, crashed into a concrete median wall and was ejected from the vehicle. The accident occurred on Route 53 south of Kirchoff Road in Rolling Meadows, according to a news release. Full story.

Parts of Route 59 in Naperville to be closed over weekend

A portion of Route 59 in Naperville will be closed in both directions for three days beginning Friday night near the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad underpass to allow crews to install a box culvert beneath the often-congested state road, city officials said Tuesday. Officials said crews plan to close the road in that area at 9 p.m. Friday, and it's not scheduled to reopen until Monday morning. Full story.

Weather

Traffic

Washington Street is closed between Cedar Lake Road and Hainesville Road near Round Lake Park. People are urged to use Rollins Road as a detour around the construction area. Full traffic.

Abreu, Sox down Dodgers 4-1
