Cupcakes go 'Wild'
Wildfire's executive chef Tony Mendoza teaches kids the secrets to baking, frosting and decorating ice cream cone cupcakes during a class from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 7. $15 per child. Reservations recommended. A portion of the proceeds will benefit DuPage PADS.

Virant's Vistro slated for late summer
Celebrated chef Paul Virant will be opening a new restaurant, Vistro, in Hinsdale later this summer. The rustic, bistro-style eatery will serve an array of comfort food favorites like fried chicken, wood-oven pizza and meatloaf as well as seasonal food and drinks. Virant, who has been nominated for the James Beard award, will remain involved with Vie in Western Springs and Chicago's Perennial Virant.
Vistro will open at 112 S. Washington St., Hinsdale.
