Mission Possible June 16-20

From Monday, June 16 through Friday, June 19, 2014, the congregation of Grace United Methodist Church, located at 244 E. Center Ave., Lake Bluff, will be participating in a week of service known as "Mission Possible." The mission week has been coordinated by village residents, John Burkhardt and Frances Clemo, who lead our Outreach Team and our Director of Christian Education, Christine Hides, also a Lake Bluff resident.

During the day, twenty-five members, adults and youth (5th grade & older), will participate in projects at several sites in Lake Bluff & Waukegan. In the evening, Grace Church will be hosting a variety of activities on site and in the community, several of which will be open to the public.

Mission sites include: ChildServ Waukegan office for cleanup, painting, organizing; Waukegan to College (W2C) expanding tutoring space, painting, furnishings; Bernie's Book Bank sorting and labeling children's books; Beacon Place coordinating a morning of games at the drop in center; San Pablo United Methodist Church landscaping and clean up; and Imagine No Malaria, international relief project between The United Methodist Church, the Gates Foundation and the United Nations.

All are welcome to join Grace Church members at the following events:

• June 16, 7:15 p.m. Prayer Walk through the village, blessing our community with peace

• June 18, 4 p.m. Beach Party at Lake Bluff beach shelter, hot dogs & soda will be provided.

• June 19, 7 p.m. Bryan Sirchio Concert, singer/songwriter, for all ages www.sirchio.com.

• June 20, 8-11 a.m., Carwash at the church & Bake Sale downtown Lake Bluff
