Field Day was fun day at Adler Park School

Adler Park School students enjoyed a beautiful spring day competing in a variety of athletic games during Field Day at the Libertyville elementary school.

Throughout the day, students rotated among various stations to participate in games including pizza box relays, potato hockey relays, three-legged races and ring warrior.

More than 50 parent volunteers joined the 24 teachers to help organize the games, and the Adler Family Association provided lunch of hot dogs, chips and watermelon.

In the afternoon, the Chicago Sky Dunk Team exhibited their acrobatic talents on the playground during a school assembly, and the day culminated with kids and teachers eating red, white and blue Popsicles.

"The students look forward to field day every year and it's one of their lasting memories," said physical education teacher Gerry Carollo, who has organized the event for the last 17 years. "We get tons of parent volunteers to help out. Overall, it's just a great day."
