Officials identify female body found in Peoria

PEORIA - Authorities say a badly decomposed female body found in a Peoria drainage ditch has been identified as a woman who was reported missing last month.

The Journal Star reports that officials identified the body as 56-year-old Terri Anderson of Peoria. Peoria County Coroner Johnna Ingersoll says an autopsy found Anderson was strangled. The identification was made with dental records.

Anderson was reported missing after she was last seen May 18. Her phone was found the next day near Illinois Route 8. Anderson's body was found Saturday afternoon.
