Garden gets grant:

The Vernon Area Public Library received a $650 grant from the Lincolnshire Garden Club to enhance the library's vegetable garden. The grant has enabled the library, at 300 Olde Half Day Road in Lincolnshire, to purchase a rain barrel, plants, a scale, and benches. Vegetables grown in the garden are donated to the Sharing Hands Food Pantry in Indian Creek. In 2013, the garden yielded 399 pounds of peppers, yellow squash, zucchini, tomatoes, cucumbers and other produce.
