Mill Creek Pool opening for business June 7 as part of Geneva Park District

The Geneva Park District's newly acquired Mill Creek Pool will open for its 2014 season on Saturday, June 7. Mill Creek Pool will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Aug. 24. On days when Geneva schools are in session, Mill Creek will be closed.

With the addition of Mill Creek Pool, the park district will now offer evening and Saturday swim lessons, as well as morning lap swim and Parent & Tot Swim.

Geneva Park District's swim lessons at both Sunset and Mill Creek pools now follow the nationally recognized Starfish Swimming program. Lessons led by award-winning staff are offered for age groups as young as infants and their parents through a Junior Lifeguard Program for teens and preteens, ages 12-15. Registration for Sunset Swim Lessons is currently open. Registration for Mill Creek swim lessons has begun.

Residents and nonresidents interested in individual, senior, or family memberships to Mill Creek Pool may choose the new Gold Pool Pass, valid for admission to both Sunset and Mill Creek Pools. Pool passes are available for purchase at Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Ave., and the Stephen D. Persinger Recreation Center, 3507 Kaneville Road. Proof of residency is required at time of purchase.

Mill Creek Pool Daily admission fees are free for toddlers (ages 0-2); $6 for residents and $8 for nonresidents for youth ages 3-17 and seniors ages 60-plus; and $7 for residents and $10 for nonresidents for adults ages 18-59. Half-price twilight admission is available after 3 p.m.

Mill Creek Pool is available for rental from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 5 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Cost is $100 per hour or $150 for nonresidents, with a two-hour minimum. The Mill Creek Hospitality Room also is available for rental at an additional hourly fee.
