Pedestrian struck, killed by train near Arlington Park

A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Metra train this morning near the Arlington Park train station, officials said.

Metra spokesman Tom Miller said trains were delayed about an hour after the man was struck near Rohlwing Road, between Arlington Park and the Palatine train station.

The crash involved train number 622, which left McHenry at 6:52 a.m., on the Union Pacific Northwest Line. The crash took place at about 7:30 a.m., Miller said. As of 1:30 p.m., he said all trains were back on schedule.
