Fine Line gallery to hold student show

Creativity comes in many forms, and the Kavanagh Gallery at Fine Line Creative Arts Center in St. Charles will be filled with works of art in a wide range of media May 30 to July 1 during Fine Line's annual student show, "Art 2014: It's What We Do."

Adult students of ceramics, 3-D, 2-D, and textiles will have their works on display throughout this contemporary gallery.

"The handmade jewelry pieces in this exhibit reflect the creativity and dedication of the artists who made them," said Claudia Engel-Rush, Fine Jewelry instructor at Fine Line. "In the relaxed setting of the jewelry studio, artists are inspired to fabricate these exquisite pieces."

This is an opportunity to not only view and purchase works of art, but also to get a sense of what anyone can learn and do through Fine Line's many class offerings.

"I encourage students to show work that is representative of what a relative beginner can do; something creative and outstanding," said Katherine Steinbring, Fine Line's metal clay instructor.

Be the first to view the Art 2014 show at the opening reception Friday, May 30, from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

The opening reception and gallery show are free and open to the public. Regular gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.

Fine Line Arts Center is at 37W570 Bolcum Road, just west of Randall Road in St. Charles.
