On Sunday June 22, 2014 the Illinois Brass Band will present "Brass Spectacular" featuring international euphonium soloist Mr. David Thornton.
The performance will take place at 2:30 PM in the sanctuary of the First United Methodist Church of Arlington Heights, 1903 East Euclid Avenue; Arlington Heights, IL.
David Thornton, a native of Great Brittan is regarded as one of the foremost euphonium player and teachers of his generation and has a global recognition. His work as a soloist, conductor and educator is renowned throughout the brass playing community. Mr. Thornton has held solo euphonium position with the well known Fairey Band, The Black Dyke Band and currently is the solo euphonium of the Brighouse and Rastrick Band, all of Great Brittan. He has been featured soloist on over 20 different albums of brass band music and has two solo albums of his own. His tours have taken him to North America, Asia, and Australia and throughout Europe. Mr. Thornton is a Sterling Musical Instrument performing artist and plays exclusively on the Sterling Virtuoso Euphonium.
Tickets will be available at the door on the day of the performance one hour prior to the performance

The Illinois Brass Band is a 30 member British style brass band in its 23rd year of performing throughout northern Illinois and is supported in part by a grant from the Illinois Arts Council, a state agency.
Members come from communities throughout the greater Chicago metropolitan area.
