Waukegan fire contained to one apartment
A fire started in a six-unit apartment in Waukegan Wednesday evening, but firefighters were able to keep it contained to one unit, officials said.
Waukegan firefighters responded to the call at about 6 p.m. in the 400 block of Jackson Street near the intersection of Grand Avenue.
Firefighters were able to keep the fire within one room of one apartment in the building, Waukegan Captain Tom Christensen said.
The fire remains under investigation, he said.
