Sox put Lindstrom on DL; Guerra called up

The White Sox placed right-handed pitcher Matt Lindstrom on the 15-day disabled list and called up right-handed pitcher Javy Guerra from Class AAA Charlotte.

Lindstrom, 34, injured his ankle in the ninth inning of Monday night's victory over the Kansas City Royals while attempting to field a bunt.

According to the White Sox, Lindstrom suffered a sublexing peroneal (outside) tendon in his left ankle. Lindstrom will return to Chicago for further examination.

Guerra, 28, is 1-1 with a 2.33 ERA (5 ER/19.1 IP) and three saves in 14 relief appearances with Charlotte in 2014, limiting right-handers to a .229 (8-35) average.
