St. Charles Partnership seeks performers for STC Live!

Downtown St. Charles Partnership is looking for quality performers of all ages to take part in their summer program, STC Live! The purpose of this program is to help create activity by coordinating live, free entertainment in downtown businesses and on the First Street Plaza.

The program, which will kick off Memorial Day Weekend in conjunction with the St. Charles Fine Art Show, will take place Wednesday and Friday evenings through the summer.

The partnership is seeking artists, musicians, and entertainers of different disciplines who have interest in showcasing their talents to support the downtown.

"We want this program to promote our businesses, encourage people to explore all that our downtown offers, and expose the many talents of people in our community," said Lynne Schwartz, executive director of the Downtown St. Charles Partnership.

The partnership will pair selected talent with an appropriate business, and is seeking artists who would like to participate in the program. STC Live! will take place on Wednesday and Friday evenings beginning Memorial Day Weekend continuing through mid-September.

For consideration, interested parties should email jblair@downtownstcharles.org the following:

• Contact name, name of act, phone, and email; and

• A short description of type and style of entertainment.

And at least two of the following:

• Demo and/or examples of past work;

• Performance resume;

• Three professional references; and

• website with example of work, testimonials, etc.

The STC Live! Committee will review information submitted by interested performers and begin arranging appropriate talent with interested businesses. Performers will have their information listed on the partnership's website; performers will receive no pay, but they will receive publicity and promotion. To help generate interest and excitement for the business and its patrons, the performing entity must present a professional, family-friendly performance including appropriate language and attire.

Whether a jazz musician, vocalist, magician, or band, the STC Live! program will promote downtown with live, free entertainment. In the end, these mini-events will help bring more people to downtown, showcase the businesses, and help enhance the district for shopping, dining, recreation, and entertainment.
