Bartett d. Larkin: The Hawks made quick work of the Royals in 2 sets of Upstate Eight action, 25-17, 25-7. Mike Gulczynski led the way with 10 kills and 2 blocks. Jonathan Cruz compiled 15 assists and 2 digs while Jake Martin (3 kills, 3 digs, 2 aces), James Wells (4 kills) and Ricky Foster (3 blocks, 2 kills) contributed. Rudy Hernandez had 7 assists and 4 digs for Larkin.
Streamwood d. Antioch: Behind Jonah Exline's 13 kills, 3 aces and 22 digs, the Sabres (20-13) managed to slip past Antioch 25-19, 29-31, 25-17 in nonconference action. Phil Lewy added 10 kills to go with his 12 digs and 1 ace while Martin Blanca had 34 assists with 3 blocks and 2 aces. Yaju Machida had 20 digs.
