Hampshire wins sectional title

The Hampshire girls track team won the program's first sectional championship Thursday night, scoring 101 points to nab the Class 2A crown at Woodstock. Grayslake Central was second with 72 points.

In addition to winning the 1,600-meter relay in 4:13.56, the Whip-Purs also got first-place finishes from Elizabeth Pagan in the long jump (17-00.25) and the 300 low hurdles (48.00).

Dallas Krueger took second for Hampshire in the high jump (4-10) and Caitlyn Graff was second in the 100 high hurdles (17.00). The Whips also qualified their 3,200 relay team, which finished fourth but broke the state qualifying time with a run of 9:56.40.
