Libertyville crossing to close again:

Drivers are reminded the Metra rail crossing on Milwaukee Avenue in downtown Libertyville will be closed to vehicle and pedestrian traffic beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday, May 17, for repairs to the roadway and crossing. The road is scheduled to reopen in the evening on Monday, May 19. The crossing had been closed from May 2 to May 7 for emergency replacement of the crossing, but a miscalculation was made and the road approaches were not pitched at the correct angle, creating a bumpy situation that needs to be corrected. The previous detour of Butterfield Road, Route 176 and Route 137 will apply. All businesses will remain open and local traffic will be allowed.
