Crystal Lake South 12, Rockford Auburn 0: After hanging a 5-spot in the first inning, the Gators (11-11) cruised back to .500 with a run rule nonconference victory, Seven different Gators drove home a run with Andrew Swaitly and Paul Wille doubling and scoring a pair. With the offense dominating, pitcher Michael Danca needed to be serviceable but turned in a gem instead. Danca allowed just 2 hits and walks and struck out 7 in 5 innings.
St. Charles East 7, Streamwood 6: A late comeback attempt for the Sabres (6-20, 4-15) wasn't enough as they fell for the 10th straight time in Upstate Eight Conference play. Matt Grens had 3 hits and 2 RBI to help give the Sabres an early lead that would be undone late in part due to 5 errors. Kevin Sojda went all 7 innings and took the loss giving up 6 hits and 7 runs (2 earned).
