West Chicago Public Library District Welcomes New Director

The Board of Trustees of the West Chicago Public Library District has appointed a new Library Director. Benjamin R. Weseloh, currently the library's Adult Services Manager, will assume the position which is being vacated by outgoing Administrative Librarian, Melody E. Coleman, who officially retires on May 23, 2014.

Benjamin Weseloh earned his BA in English Literature from Rosary College in 1995 and a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) from Dominican University in 1997. In addition, he holds a Master of Organizational Leadership (MSOL), also from Dominican University, which he received in 2004. He brings over 17 years of professional library experience in both academic and public libraries, including project management and library renovation. Benjamin has a passion for working with the public and a focus on providing an outstanding customer experience.

"I am looking forward to working directly with the Board of Library Trustees and the community to meet the changing needs of the District as technology continues to alter traditional library service," Weseloh said.

"The Board is pleased to select a new library director who intends to enhance the level of service that the library offers the community with innovative solutions to changing community needs," said Board President Dr. Nancy Conradt. "Ben Weseloh has a proven record of sound management practices and creative program ideas."
