Sauter tribute this week in D.C.

The memory of Illinois State Police Trooper James Sauter will be honored in Washington, D.C., this week as troopers from Illinois State Police District 15 participate in National Police Week. Sauter, 28, of Vernon Hills, was killed March 28, when his squad car was hit from behind by a truck on I-294. Illinois State Police are also sending motorcycle officers and the Honor Guard. “Trooper Sauter will be surrounded by the respect of his fellow officers,” said ISP Captain Patrick Kimes. “We pay tribute to Jim and remember all of the heroes because their legacies must never be forgotten.”
