Swimmer's body found in Lake Michigan

Search crews have found the body of a swimmer in Lake Michigan north of Chicago.

The U.S. Coast Guard says the person was pulled from the water Thursday. Lake Forest Deputy Police Chief Karl Walldorf says there were multiple calls about a swimmer in distress Thursday morning. The body was found about three hours later.

U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Brian Dykens says they received a report of a person in the water "bobbing up and down and going under."

Officials say the Coast Guard and fire departments from more than 20 municipalities responded. The search included boats, divers, at least one rescue helicopter, drag lines and sonar equipment.

The victim hasn't been immediately identified.
