Memorial fund for Barrington motorcycle crash victim

A fund has been established to offset funeral expenses for the man who died Tuesday following a motorcycle crash at Hart Road and Northwest Highway in Barrington.

Joseph Masino, 19, of the 9200 block of Primrose Court in Fox River Grove, was pronounced dead at a hospital a couple of hours after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon, authorities said. The cause of the accident is under investigation.

Memorial donations may be made to the Joseph Masino Memorial Fund c/o Harris Bank, 860 Northwest Hwy., Fox River Grove, Ill. 60020.

Portions of the proceeds from Friday food orders at Kookers, Coopers and Jimanos in Fox River Grove will be donated to this fund, as will Saturday food orders at Wool Street.

The visitation will be from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at Davenport Family Funeral Home at 149 W. Main St. in Barrington. The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Masino, a 2013 Barrington High School graduate, also attended Countryside Elementary School and Barrington Middle School Station Campus.

He is survived by his father, Frank Masino; mother, Susan (nee McGovern) Masino; brother, Anthony; grandmother, Phyllis McGovern; stepbrother, Christopher; stepsister, Erica; uncles; Tim, Tom, and Mike McGovern, and Fred Plurkowski; and cousin Amber.
