Three Downers Grove men face charges in cellphone robbery

Three Downers Grove men are charged with robbing a Downers Grove woman of her cellphone as she exited her vehicle while in front of her house.

Tallen Patrick Casey, 20, Devonte Miles, 18, and Jamarrion King, 17, each were charged with one count of armed robbery. Casey also has been charged with an additional count of armed robbery for allegedly robbing a man of his wallet while in a Westmont parking lot.

DuPage Judge Karen Wilson set bond at $300,000 for King and Casey and $400,000 for Miles.

According to prosecutors, the men approached the woman about 11:30 p.m. Sunday in her driveway. Prosecutors say two of the men pointed guns at the woman and stole her phone.

The additional charge against Casey alleges that at 10 p.m. Saturday he approached a man in a Westmont parking lot and stole his wallet.

"The type of brazen behavior allegedly exhibited by these three men will not be tolerated and will be met with the full force of the law," DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a written statement.

The next appearance for all three men is scheduled for June 9 in front of Judge John Kinsella in courtroom 4000 for arraignment.
