Cougars' Remillard keeps pounding the ball

In Will Remillard's first 19 at-bats of the season, he had just 2 hits. But since a 5-RBI effort against Dayton in April, Remillard has batted .500 with 21 RBI and a home run.

The Cougars catcher starred again Tuesday, driving in 4 runs with 3 hits, including a bases-clearing double as first-place Kane County (23-9) posted its 11th straight win at Fifth Third Bank Ballpark in Geneva with an 8-2 victory over the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers (13-18) in Midwest League action.

Daury Torrez (4-1) worked 6 innings for his third quality start, allowing 2 runs. Reliever Jose Arias worked 2 perfect innings.

The series concludes today at 11 a.m. when the Cougars' Juan Paniagua (0-1) opposes Taylor Williams (1-0).
